When not modelling 'hair' made for me out of various plants, I'm usually working on web-based ventures or one kind or another or out and about with the camera in North East England. Recently I've mostly been shooting time lapse rather than stills.

I value genuinely honest feedback, so any comments are welcome on my portfolio, no matter what you think. I hope you enjoy the visit.

I love the way that normally busy Hamsterley becomes a genuine wilderness in the snow. Great shot. By way of a little feedback the grad line between sky and trees is maybe just a bit too strong to be comfortable? I realise it would be tricky to do otherwise though.

  • Farr point 4

    A powerful shot. Well done.

  • Thomason Foss II

I like the unusual angle through the greenery - not a view I've seen used here before and it works really well.

  • Sycamore Gap

Beautifully taken. My only feedback would be that there seem to be some obvious cloning marks (maybe?) top right, but it's a great shot.

  • Clumber Sunset

Hey - perfect timing. The light through the swan's wings is fantastic.

A great find, very well captured.

  • That tree.

    Fantastic. Perfectly colour balanced IMO.

  • Christmas Day in Trough of Bowland

A great scene, well composed. I'd maybe push the contrast a little higher with a bit of curves adjustment.

  • Iced Lake

I find the inset frame a little distracting personally but like the shot overall. Great comp.

  • Sunset Before Christmas

    Fantastic winter colours.

  • Simien Mountains

I don't disagree with the contrast comments but I wouldn't overdo it. It has a great atmosphere about it. Well done.

    Works for me too.

  • Heather at Roseberry

It's rare to find a new take on a familiar place but this really stands out as something original.

  • Scalebar Force

Yes - great comp and you've done well to handle the dappled light and shade.

  • G O L D

Beautifully presented as others have said but you also seem to have got the saturation and exposure just spot on, without over doing it.

  • Warren Breakwater #1

The tones work really well. Great shot.

Fantastic contrast between the corn field and the grey sky - very powerful.

    Beautifully composed.

  • Swirling Tide

I'm not sure I can really describe why but it certainly has a lot more about it than the typical posts-in-the-sea-at-sunset shot. I'm pretty sure it's something about comp rather than light for me but it's too much in my subconscious to articulate I'm afraid Smile

  • high into the sky

You've definitely made the most of the height with the wide angle. Works well.

  • The Waiting Game

The light on the cracked mud makes it for me. Very well captured.

  • Durrango & Silverton 7

The snow and steam combination gives it some real atmosphere. Great shot.

  • brentor church

You've certainly made good use of a powerful lead-in.
    • 15 Apr 2009 12:51PM
  • Katy Curd

Fantastic. It captures the atmosphere really well and the exposure's spot on with just a little rotation blur in the wheels.
    • 14 Apr 2009 11:44AM
  • Sunset Blitz

I like the way the subtle shade colours in the foreground contrast with the light on the cliff here. Fantastic shot.
    • 8 Apr 2009 1:06PM
  • The Hole

It's certainly a powerful shot. Very impressive.

  • a tree on loch lomond

I have a thing for lone, gnarly trees anyway but the treatment is superb here. Fantastic atmosphere.

    • 29 Mar 2009 11:51AM

Great image. It'd be worth the extra effort for the tidy up.
