I am lucky to live near the Peak District and through photography have many good friends who share this magical hobby of chasing light.
After a good few years of traditional photography, i metamophasised as a digital photographer in May 07 with a D200 and a variety of Nikkor lenses. this has since been updated to a d300s.
i love printing and for this i prefer Canon equipment.
My choice of subject is eclectic and ranges from abstract to people and more recently moody landscape, and despite a love of travel, most of my best pictures are taken local to home.
For me , It is not about the camera I use, its all about seeing the image , although it does helps to have reliable equipment, I have seen many brilliant pictures taken on the least expensive cameras.
The greatest buzz for me is standing before a sunrise, an autumn inversion, a single shaft of light in a stormy sky. the simple things that many dismiss, to me mean everything.
I enjoy being out, waiting for light that dissapears as quickly as it came, and feeling the excitment of capturing that fleeting second when everything comes together on that all too infrequent occasion. Better still if its within 200yds of a carpark.
I thank my wonderful wife for her unending Patience and understanding in my persuit of the next image.
