yesterdays hero

saw this old chap at an event recently and asked him to stand there whilst i stood on a chair to get a higher viewpoint so i could get the nice top light to isolate him against the paneling. i suppose he thought i was nuts Grin

it was always going to be mono but the pop on the medals was a last minute afterthought. now it seems to be the main point of the image. must have been a sub consious thing

Nice character study, very striking. I definetely agree about the colouring of the medals.

This is a brilliant image of an old boy. His face looks as though he had many a story. The look on his face loks as though he just about to start telling one.

Nicely done in mono and well picked out the medal ribbons.

The light, detail and clarity only add a richness to this shot.

I find I keep looking at it and it holds me.

Well done you must be well chuffed with this image.

An excellent portrait - his direct gaze and solemn expression really capture your attention and I like the mono conversion. The lighting is lovely, especially the way it has highlighted the rim of his hat and the use of selective colour for the medal ribbons works very well. An image to be really proud of.
