to carl wark

By NEWMANP
after nearly 2 weeks of sickness and boy i mean sickness, i ventured out this morning into the peak to see if the snow was up to much, man it was cold, it felt like -10 but i think the car said -3
it was super for around an hour, i had a blast all by my self doing the sunrise on higger and then went scouting for a few new shots.
for some reason i always known this view, it can be seen from the road, but i never bothered to walk back to it. i was really looking for next time when a gap in the clouds illuminated the ground around Carl wark and i was happy with the result. hope you like it.
thanks for looking

Lovely shot, was up near Higgor in November and captured a rainbow shot over Hope Valley, magical place.

Very nice Phil. It can be a bit troublesome getting to this location and I can't imagine the snow and ice made it any easier.

Was hoping to get to Carl Wark for midwinter sunset tomorrow - but am snowed in on our hilltop at the moment and even if I managed to get the car down the hill without writing it off, won't get it back up again!

Beauty of a shot Phil. That place comes to life with the winter. Well captured. The things we do for our art!!!

I know the feeling Phil, my first trip out for three weeks. Glad to hear you are feeling better too. A couple of cracking shots, I was just up the road from you witnessing the same sunrise Wink

Both excellent shots but the sunrise (version 2) is definitely the winner for me.

The sunrise/set stands still for a couple of days around the solstice, so even if I didn't make it till Wednesday evening, it would still give the same effect. Or failing that, there's always next year!
