Always good to be able to take advice and not rebel against another view Tom, good for you my friend. It's a great candid of the lad.

Arr that boy again the crop works better here tom,ive just been sitting here looking at him for a few mins, and its very moving when you sit and think what his life must be like, one thing for sure there's no joy and happiness in his eye's,that are kids take for granted and little do's he know that theres people like me thinking of him from so far away, the power of photography hey tom,
so this gets my award which i dont give out much,
for this image say's so much thanks for reposting it tom,,,

Thanks for uploading this, I've spent a while comparing with the original, it's a totally different picture but I reckon this works well in its own right. This really concentrates attention where it matters.

Even with the severe crop this is more than good enough to stand on its own. A very soulful image, well done.

Thank you Ian for such a wonderful review of this shot and the award and you are right about his eyes they just stare. This can be an upsetting shot knowing where I took it from.

I wonder what his story is he looks about 10,
