Combining hobbies - History and Photography

Welcome to my corner of ePhotozine.

I love all aspects of photography. But my true passion is Black & White the tones, textures is what holds my attention. Of late my work is moving more into the surreal creative genre, but I still love the early morning sunrise, there's something magical about the dawn of a day.

Combining hobbies - History and Photography

Strange, the only time I think of writing a blog post is when I'm either lacking inspiration or I'm stuck.

I have one project which hopefully will be coming to fruition soon. It will be a composite based one, and I know after I will be drained. So I will be returning to some landscape work for light relief.

But the reason for this post is I'm planning ahead, and the recent forum thread on hobbies.

I have quite an interest in history, particularly family history, not the collection of names but finding out about the events that shaped their lives. I have a long term idea of combining my research and photography into a book.

There are a couple of images I would like to shape.. One is to do with trench warfare in WW1, particularly signallers. Tho getting info on them is hard, let alone getting props any ideas? If you have either contribute to the thread, or drop me a PM.

Similarly I'm looking at the role of a flight engineer in bomber command - but where to start?

This was my feeble first attempt.

The still life project has been the hardest to date to master - and I'm a long way from that !!

If anyone has any ideas for props / themes I would be very greatfull.
