..The future for Dorothy & Timothy is in the balance
part of the nightmaresanddreamscapes series
a rework of this i've tried a different tone (tho it doesn't look good when viewed on an iPad, but the screen & print is fine), and a lighter feel
Looks good on here..........like your vision......
The title got me! But it's a good picture - funny too. (Sorry if it's not meant to be!)
Outstanding Mate, it's a similar image to an idea that never came off for me a few months ago.
Think I prefer the original blue toned version, although this isn't without it's own qualities and I'm sure it will do well.....
Like the concept and your work here Nick.
Just wonder if it worth looking as the second chair and lifting it so that it stilling on the front leg (if that make sense) as it just look a bit odd
Just amazing - love your imagination and ability.
I much prefer this version - I found the blue tone a tad heavy. The sheep add so much here, like a rather hesitant audience.
Thanks everyone, big thanks for your award Ian, from one of the guys who gave me the push in the first place that means a lot.
Rich, I see what you mean, tho I messed with the chairs for litrally hours, don't know if I have the inclination to revisit that again ...LOL (to explain to others who havent tried DM's even the minutist change on one chair, alters the perspective and relationship with the other two,so what sounds simple ....) but thanks for the comment it really is appreciated.
Love it! Very clever work!
Thanks for all the votes / comments. Big thanks Ken for the UA.
Probably one more to come in the series to finish it off - not even started work on it yet tho so will be weeks away. (I may have a couple of others including one more re- work, if the inspiration comes along) then I will concentrate on other projects.
Now all I have to do is think how to display them ...LOL
very clever and extremly good...
A great balancing act, Nick!
Great imagination and brilliantly realised
Mad and wonderful. The sheep look puzzled - I like their inclusion.
Very creative and extremely well done............Sandy
Quote: Now all I have to do is think how to display them
I'm sure there is a local venue Nick, they'll look great all framed and displayed together.
The Sheep make this one for me Nick....& you gotta sort them chairs out...they will fall over if you leave them like that, right in the middle of the road to...tut,tut
Knowing the set Nick,I would have liked to have seen Dorothy somewhere far far away in the distance, just to hold them all together as a series
Now there's a problem Janet, the model has upped her fees considerably which Dad refuses to pay, hence no Dorothy...LOL
Seriously I did consider it, I thought long and hard about Dorothy calling Timothy with her Clarinet, instead of the sheep, but Dorothy has to be near by to pick up the pieces (just out of frame). If you remember, the first image in the series didn't have Dorothy in. Although she may just make the final cut
Thats a good re-work Nick
Toning really suits and gone is most of the obvious mirror flip.
Quote: the perspective and relationship
would make those sheep about 8ft tall hahah. Surreal indeed.
Maybe have a final edit that separates the chairs interlocking tension , and have the top one at a slight angle so those elements float the dimension.
Still , bloody good image mate.
Quote: so those elements float the dimension
Have you been reading my mind Dave ... Thats for the final image!
Natural progression , your DMs are well good
i dont know.
its raining every where at the moment,
even in-surreal land
if i should want to overtake this
which side would i do it,
Thats a compleiment indeed, thank you. Tho I doubt you would say that if you saw my recycle bin!

Well if that wood pigeon I hit last night is anything to go by - straight down the middle.
you should hit a deer like we did the other week
nearly wrote the car off.
thats a good title for your next image
DEATH OF A WOOD PIGEN
It was like a snow storm when looking through the rear view miror( I don't know how I would depict that in an image). I wouldnt fancy hitting a deer tho!
Tho a concrete block bouncing off the road into the windscreen ... well I had to bin those underpants.
Exquisite originality. Paul
Very nicely done Nick.
