Ropes, Posts & Boats

First thanks for the support on the last image, and the award Pete.

I keep telling myself colour or black and white, not both. But on this one I couldn't resist. Its the mono conversion of Sundays image (see for tech details etc).

Some may remember a forum post I started a while back on long lenses and differential focus (if thats the correct term). Well this is what I was after, and its the first set of images I'm reasonably happy with.

Its a style I want to incorporate into my work. As with Sundays to get the best out of the DOF effect its worth having a peak at the large version if you get time.

Anyway all comments welcome

Wow - I thought the colour version was special but the mono is even more so Nick - really accentuates what you were trying to (and did) achieve with the focussing. Excellent work!

Have seen the colour yet Nick but this work well in mono. Good use of the long lens and it compression.

Definitely mono, this image has so much more punch in B&W. Great image.

Nice Nick, but the golden light in the first shot made it.

Maybe it's just me - but I think the mono has more punch.
