I'm glad you did. Some lovely texture and tones throughout the image.

Sorry matey, not as keen on this as I would like to be in all honesty Nick as I love this location - especially with the tide in.

Difficult to pinpoint exactly, but my comments are probably more from a technical standpoint. I think for me the vignette is a little harsh and hides some of that lovely fg detail in the shale. Seems a touch dark on the sky too and seems to hem the shot in rather than giving it room to breathe.

Also, there appears to be a lot of noise on both sides of the shot in the midtone region predominantly.

Sorry to be negative and I could've just passed through without saying anything, but I know you welcome comments rather than just clicks, so ...

I think the mono suits this well Nick, the foreground details are good and dark rock in the central area hold your attention well.
The dark sky stops the energy of the image leaking out.
Works for me.

Thanks Nikki for the UA really appreciated

Thanks Paul for the honest critique. I knew it wasn't everyones cup of tea, probably why I'd taken a while to upload. I was trying for quite a dark, desolate mood with this one, the reason why the vignette (not something I do much) - Although the noise is something I should have eliminated (didn't help that I had the camera set at ISO800 - fool ). But as you know I would rather hear people concerns/comments and I appreciate it mate.

Cheers

The nab sits nicely in that band of light, the sky gives the image mood. The noise isn't to much of an issue, even adds a film quality feel to the image.
Not to sure of the vignette, agree with Paul your omitting some nice detail in that slate.

Overall you've tried something a little different for this location, good on you for that Nick
