I am a photographer who specialises in producing artistic and creative images of people.

I am a Post-Graduate, who studied Fine Art and Philosophy at degree and post-graduate level. I taught Art, Photography, Philosophy and Sociology for 12 years.

I gave up teaching to concentrate on my photography. Although I have taught photography for many years I have had no formal photographic training.

My images draw on my background in Fine Art and my love of the theatre. I have also directed and acted on stage for many years. Most memorably playing Sweeney Todd in Stephen Sonheim's stage musical.

I offer photoshop training, details of which are on my website.

I also own a pageant photography business www.thepageantphotographer.com

interesting. I could look at them for hours and not get bored. Thats what I call Art and you are clearly VERY talented.
This is the direction I want to go Smile...eventually.
This style is what grabs me and gets me exited, what got me interested in photography in the first place.
Would love to hear any more advice you have for me.

Hi Nick
A few quotations from my journal:
"If anyone ever thinks of serious portraiture, she is obliged to see your gallery."
"One can hardly improve her portraiture without seeing your works"
"Every master trying to achieve great results in her portraiture is strongly advised to study this photographer"

You have some great shots here, Nick. I was particularly impressed by the busker shots and am pleased to see one of them receive wider appreciation in this month's Digital Photo competition. You must be delighted
Hello Nick,

I mean't to write yesterday but...I added a sky with a bit more life to your Venetian Canal photo, which I really liked, and also using the histogram added a tad bit of sheen to the old dull painted walls.

Thanks, James

Hi Nick,

As a learning photographer, I can only wish that my portraits will one day be as good as yours! And Dionne is right, landscapes get heaps more attention on this site, and although I do love a good landscape, the honesty and beauty of the human form and face to me is unbeatable.

This site inspires me daily but also makes me realise how far I am from being excellent. But I'm not discouraged because as long as I love making photo's, that's all that matters.

Keep em coming!

Hi Nick

You say you need some more comments in here so here goes!

It is of course very nice and it perhaps gives one's ego a boost when people take the time to put in comments about your PF however, do not think that because they haven't, it reflects what people think of your images. Your photography is of a high standard. Clicks and comments are very nice however, there are some very talented photographers on here who do not seem to get the attention they deserve and, in my humble opinion, it does not really matter a jot. Personally I try to comment on as many images as I can but I know there are many good ones on here I do not get to see let alone vote or comment on. Like many others I look at as many as time allows 1) because I like to look at photos and 2) because I have learned a lot from doing just that.

I hope a few others take the time to comment on your excellent portfolio but if they don't - well, in essence it really reflects nothing in terms of the standard of your work. It is very likely that if you stuck to landscapes you would get the attention because that is what always seems to get the lion's share of votes on here and without a doubt is the most popular. People to do seem to go for portraits as much but that should not be a reason for you to stop doing them.

Keep up the good work!

Kind regards

PS You were already in my favourites!

You have some really stunning images in your pf Nick, but for some reason it has been a little overlooked. Nice portraiture, will return and leave individual comments as time allows.
