A really wonderful shot, fab detail and a gorgeous sky - it's nice to see the mountains not being engulfed by the clouds, well not by much anyway!

would have been better to have tilted the camera up a tad, so we could have seen more of the 'brooding sky'.

good colours though, apart from that burnt out piece of sky, two blended exposures may have fixed that?

Glad to see the good old 'atlas boulder' is still featuring large Smile Lovely shot. I've stood in the same place under similar conditions and it's quite a sight.

Cheers guys and a good point Terry, I'm not averse to blending at times but on this particular occasion I didn't bracket so unless I pushed the RAW file a bit more there was no darker highlights to use. As for tilting up, I'm happy with the composition as it's not about the sky for me the geology is the main focus here, the sky merely provides the backdrop.

Excellent Paul, I don't see any burnt out highlights, on my screen I can see detail there. For me its about the FG the sky is a bonus

Yup, there is detail in there mate - as bright as that small area is. Your sentiments mirror mine completely, the sky plays second fiddle in the scene, it's all about the immediate foreground!!!
