Leaving Donegal

After 36 hours or so of rain and a featureless sky my day of departure promised a change in the weather. The evening before I chanced my luck and went back to the same spot.

If anyone can explain the rays of light over the headland I'd be greatful, something I've not witnessed before. Hope the same was captured by the one other person here as he makes a living from his photography. (http://www.peterzoeller-photo.com/)

Curious that the rays of light seem to be radiating out from the far cliffs.... something I've not seen before. It certainly adds to an already dramatic seascape Smile

Two superbly photographed shots.

Maybe the light hitting the headland was so bright it was able to illuminate the seaspray in the air.

Ok for real this time, looks like you caught the sun rays bursting through some holes in the cloud.

Steve, thanks for the info. It makes sense now of a similar thing I've seen in the past when photographing rainbows.

Stunning and dramatic image Melanie. I have never seen rays like that, and also found Stephens links informative.
