The mono suits this image so well in accentuating the lovely textures and features of this Ram Nigel! Smile John

Well suited to mono, Nigel, though I very much liked the colour. 50/50 for me I think.
He seems possessed of a certain... ennui.

Yes I enjoyed this version in colour, and I think I prefer colour although this plays on the lines and patterns. I would prefer a contrasty, punchier conversion, although that might risk losing some detail in the softer wool; this looks a little bit flat.

I love the mono Nigel. I noticed the eyes in this one but not in the colour.
The patterns on the horns and that wonderful face are more pronounced I think.
Perhaps a bit more contrast but mighty fine.

Interesting the comments on contrast, I initially did a higher contrast version but went back and reduced it to retain more detail. I will have a look again when I am back at home.

Oh wow - super image - the detail is superb to the extent that it jumps off the screen at me!

My favourite breed of sheep, the Swaledale. I used to work for a Swaledale breeder. A cracking image of a magnificent Tup. Just looking over the head of the fella he is a good showing Ram. I get the impression he is staring you out

The mono image compliments the whole composition, and the capture of symmetry in the horns is spot on.

Yep it works for me.

Like it a lot.

Regards.
