My Journey To Recovery - Day . . . . . opps!!!
26 Jan 2014 2:09PM Views : 525 Unique : 447Well, that didn't go according to plan did it!!!!!
I started the 365 project with the best intentions, and clearly it wasn't to be. Just before Christmas my job at work was put 'at risk'. I had a pretty good idea that I would be one of the 12 out of 41 going, and I was right - this Thursday just gone, I was made redundant.
As you can imagine, I had other things on my mind these last 3 weeks or so. I worked for HP, delivering Network solutions to Rolls Royce Aero and Naval here in Derby. Been there 8 years, so I get 8 weeks gardening leave or PILON and the equivalent of about 5 months pay, as the redundancy payment is tax free.
So, I am back in the position of trawling the job sites again! I know I am not alone, but its scary when it happens to yourself. Mortgage, bills, food shopping spring to mind straight away!!
But to be honest, most of my previous health problems related to work, and in one sense I am happy to be gone. It could prove to be the best thing that has happened to me!!
So, until the job is sorted, the photography will take a back burner for a while - I am self studying for a Cisco network qualification called the CCNA. This will make me more 'marketable'.
So, sorry for only lasting 3 weeks at the 365 project (i logged 18 days, but took photos up till 21 days!!). Perhaps I can restart it again some time, or do what others here have done, and do one a week rather than one a day!!
Cheers all for the supportive and encouraging comments - they mean a lot to me, they really do. I will not be leaving EPZ and may well pop again from time to time!!
Cheers all

All the best Nige, and hope to see you back soon.
