'VERA' Captured! (but ...not very well)

An early start to get to Duxford (failed with a three hour delay on the A505), finally got into the car park, near the Tank Museum. After a three hour delay what do you think the first thing a lot of people are going to want to do...exactly, and only three Portaloos in the car park! Naturally the Tank Museum loos were over subscribed..when was the last time you saw MEN queueing for an inside loo?

I'd forgotten how awful the Duxford Air Show was, having avoided the place for many years mostly because the organisers have little clue. The event itself is always overstuffed with the pushchair brigade and it is all deeply 'Essex', I haven't come across as many revolting, uncouth and rude individuals since the Proms at Hatfield House earlier in the year.

But at least I saw VERA! I even managed to get a few snaps as proof, they are not very good the sky was very overcast and I have suffered with 'white sky syndrome' - it was too much to hope that the weather would play ball when nothing else was.

It was for me quite moving to see something of Canada's aviation history, we have a tenuous family link, and I managed to get one of the BBMF spitfires in the picture too, a bit of bonus, again for family reasons.

We got the hell out of Duxford very shortly afterwards.

Never again!
