A mother's day present my daughters (Nikita and her sister) asked me to purchase for their mum gave me a quick photo opportunity. Orchids are beautiful things and what was originally a quick photo to show the girls what was purchased resulted in, what is, a rather nice photo.

Again, the Pixel makes it so easy to capture photos as I simply popped the camera into portrait mode so it knew I wanted to introduce some bokeh, framed the shot and clicked the shutter button - couldn't be any easier! There's a little clipping towards the top but I can live with that.

I hope those of you who are reading my blog entries are enjoying it and are also realising that smartphones aren't something we should shy away from for photography as for someone of slightly older age, they make the hobby a doodle while allowing me to be creative.

Pretty Building

Move Your Feet...

I've written before about how moving your feet is an important thing for us photographers to remember and yet again, the advice has come through with the shot on the left looking better than the shot on the right and all I did was walk to the back ...

I Love An Old Door

There's just something about old doors that shout to me and as a result, I've been photographing them for quite some time now. All of the history and stories they could tell... plus, they have great designs and are much more interesting to look at ...
