Very fetching view, Keith, and that is some sky with those beautiful clouds. Great shot, but I must admit I prefer the original in V2 Smile

The clouds look better there to me, for one thing. More detail and nicer light there too.

OOW that's a bit special, prefer V1 personally, so much more moody, love the composition and those clouds are very menacing, great shot in my humble opinion.

15 Nov 2013 2:56PM
Very nice moody shot

Like the shot overall, and although it's close to monochromatic, I prefer v2 for the light/color on the distant trees.

Two beautiful versions, Keith!SmileSmileSmile

Both versions are great ! In my opinion V2 is better with more natural tones!

Prefer the blue toned one here Keith.
If there was more colour in the original,
I would have preferred that I expect !!

Looks like how they often shoot 'night' scenes in films! V1 does look quite like you shot it by moonlight which has a certain 'Twilight' feel. However, V2 does seem more real, and therefore more engaging. You get more cloud drama and more contrast and detail on the opposite shore and it's a stunning image! I'm very impressed by your toning skills though. Smile

Wonderful drama in the clouds which echo the shape of the trees very nicely. The figures add a small but very significant element. Have to go with v2. Mono with a hint of green in the trees. Fine work, Keith.

I prefer v2 too Keith - those hints of colour really work for me! Excellent shot - but there's nothing like a bit of fiddling to see what can be done! SmileSmile

Definitely V2 for me, IMNAAHO*
I also like toned monos, they can sometimes be very effective, and it's easy enough to bang a tone on and fiddle with it when you don't have to mess around with chemicals ( Thank you, God, for Photoshop! ), but here I feel that it adds nothing to what is an excellent image to start with. Agree with Dave about the figures.

I'm with the V2 original brigade. I like the warmer feel but a great image to play with
the dappled light and dramatic clouds. Good tonal range.

hard to decide. I like them both, they have a totally different character like chalk and cheese, the contrast is the winner.

A very atmospheric scene with some fabulous cloud formations. I have a slight preference for v2 which is almost a mono with just a hint of colour in it
