Descending Heaven

By nishant101
This image is from my same old stock from NZ. A portrait of milky way perpendicular over the Church of Good Shepherd. I did not do much changes to the image as I was quite happy with the original image itself. This is a one single exposure.

It had to be yours Nishant.. and this one didn't need to be in the critique gallery.. exposure is fantastic, light is lovely.. the dilapidated hut the lone subject.. says - it is in need of a turn of fortune, and the galaxy above is an apt representation of the descending blessing..
very lovely image..

What a stunning shot. FantasticGrin

I'm so jealous!

Could I make a wee suggestion ... right in the middle of the shot is a dark patch ... I do realise it's really there ... but it keeps drawing my eye to it.
I would either lighten it slightly or cloneTongue

Cheers Rob

PS I've never seen such a sky in the UK living in the middle of EnglandSad

Thanks for the feedback Rob. Just to make sure.. are you talking about the dark patch at the centre of the Milkyway? If that is the case, It was already there. I am not sure if I would want to take it out but I will surely give it a try just to see if it is going to make this image better Smile Smile. btw I shot this one in NZ near lake Tekapo. Church of Good Shepherd is a major tourist destination there and you would probably find people there 24/7 even at late nights or early mornings. I was lucky to get few clear shots out of many attempts. Even in this one I had to crop the image with some cloning just a little as there was someone standing appearing at the bottom of the frame.
The sky is amazingly clear in NZ, I am not sure about North Island but South it is. Smile

An image which leaves me in awe. The thirty second exposure working beautifully capturing the light of the constellation without any unnecessary movement in the sky.

Great photography with lots of appeal Nishant.

Thanks for sharing.

It's superb as it is, yet I would still go ahead with a black and white version of it.

It's beautiful and uplifting; so many connotations can be taken from this it's hard to know where to begin with them Smile
Suffice to say, I'm envious!

Tanya, thanks for the comment and UA. Honestly, The Milky way appears clear there, clearer than in Australia. You are supposed to get good photos there with the right gear I guess.SmileSmile

This one is a theatrical delight. This sky has a natural appeal to our human senses. A slight caution about the church being ' dead ' center. So many things to be wary of. Well it is to the left a little so all is OK then. A midnight beauty. TG

Tony, yes I did frame it that way, I prefer milkyway either diagonal across the screen in landscapes or centered in portraits.
