An Old House

By nonur
Shot in Ibradi during the last trip to the south of Konya. The first image, the main door of the three storey house. Used the same person as a model. V1: the fašade taken from the left of the house. V2: right side of the structure facing the garden. V3: The interesting stone and brick walling detail of the fašade. Thank you for seeing.

Many thanks to Bill (Rookery), Jos (kuipje) and Fred (Fred263) for their precious UA's and your clicks and kind comments on my Sunday offerings. I was quite busy on Sunday as well as Saturday, so I was neither able to check your shots yesterday, sorry for that again. I'll try to keep up today.

A fascinating building with such interesting architectural detail: the girl with the red headscarf and shawl makes a nice contrast with the tones and textures of the door and wall, and adds that element of human interest.

Beautiful stonework, Nezih, I do hope the top floor is going to be renovated, and not left to go to rack and ruin.

The last version highlighting the stonework is amazing - such a work of art.
The red hood works well in your lead image - even adds a touch of mystery.

Nice image. Gave me the shivers, though, as it took me back to a film I saw in the nineteen-seventies. It must have made an impression, it was called "Don't Look Now" and was set in Venice. I subsequently read the short story by Daphne DuMaurier.

A lovely old house, Nezih ! They were built very well in those days. The red and black figure provides a very piquant facet. Regards Martin

Main photo reminds me of my grandmother's door in Lefka, Cyprus; however, a much smaller scale door than this one, of course. Typical Ottoman era architecture "Hanay", now almost extinct in Cyprus. Happy to see it still intact there in Konya.
