AboutI did some black and white photgraphy as a teenager but I think it was the chemistry I liked most and the novelty of that soon faded and it just felt like work. I did nothing but family and holiday snaps for the next 30 years.
I became interested in photography once again about 3 years ago as digital offered a lot of control without the smells and stains of the wet darkroom. I did a course in "The Art of Photography" with the OCA which has helped me a lot, although I still have a long way to go.
I like mainly landscapes and have books by the usual suspects - Joe Cornish, Colin Prior, Charlie Waite, David Ward, Michael Kenna, Ansel Adams etc. I also like Gregory Crewdson's unsettling pictures and O Winston Link's beautiful railway pictures.
The only photography magazine I subscribe to is Lenswork.
