I WAS lucky to get this. I got a shot or two, but they were looking away and the composition wasn't very good......just as I got them framed into a decent shot they heard me and started to take off. I didn't know if I'd caught them or not until I checked the moniter.

Thanks for stopping to comment, all. Very much appreciated.

I did miss this one first time round. What a well seen and photographed shot. You say you were lucky but remember - the more you practise the luckier you get! Smile I reckon you worked hard to get the shot - have a click, it made me smile

This is a lovely shot Amy and the title is excellent! I like the composition with the three birds lined up and the strong diagonal of the quayside. Great timing ....click

Love this shot - made me laugh. I think what really makes it is the bird in the foreground - it looks as if he's taking it very seriously, and is concentrating very hard.

Thanks so much for your positive comments everyone. I wish I had had the time to frame the cormorant (?) in the foreground with a little more space in front of him.....but you know how that goes Smile

As for who the winner was , Jan....the little guy in the foreground made it to the water first, of course Smile) (he had a head start after all)

Very impressive! Yeah i agree it's a pity there's not a bit more room in front of the nearest one, but i don't suppose they gave you much time to re-compose as they were moving. Excellent timing. Well done.
