Well, ive done a gig before, fortunatly i could use a flash, and when i was at the front (touching distance) the sigma 10-20mm photos were the best by far! 18-55 is a bit... -

Upgrade to Canon 5D - yes or no ?
Another thing to note is that the 5D will allow you to get a shallower depth of field for the same aperture. Could be useful with portraits, allowing you to really knock... -
