Card Players

By david deveson
Trastevere this morning, deep in play, just like yesterday and the day before that and the day before that. Mario on the left never wins but he ploughs on regardless.

It is an exelent shot. the background could do with being a bit lighter if that was possible.

No way Frank...why lighten the background which isn't the subject of the shot and detract from the players themselves... keep a bit of mystery I say

Excellent. All the elements come together so well. A liitle big of magic

I don't know how much you could crop this, but there might a separete good shot of the guy on the right about the elbow upwards maybe.

This shot, David, is simply and magically wonderful, and words almost fail me to express my admiration. The characters all interact like a jigsaw - the tragic/comedic maksks of the card players, and the way the third character almost invites us in to share the little scene. The whole framed so beautifully in the doorway, with the graffiti the final touch. I don't know if this was staged or not, but I don't care a whit. This is not mere photography, but sheer art! I wouldn't change a single thing about it.

PS - You'll gather I like it! Smile

Made me smile, thanksSmile

Full of humor and a shot that most of us would have walked past.
Well spotted, captured, and produced.
