Bee and skimmia

By oldgreyheron
I had a day away from the pressures of work today, and did some tidying up in the garden near the site of yesterday's Life and Death image. I have a quite large skimmia japonica bush near the magnolia, and this afternoon it was literally buzzing with bees. I tried nearly 30 images of close ups of the bees and this is perhaps the only one which worked - they move so quickly! You will have to imagine the wonderful scent and the sound of the bees' activities!

I do hope that your day was a good as mine!

Mike

Sounds like a good day indeed! Excellent capture of our buzzy friend, Mike, and the light on the flowers is so chirpy Smile

Good sharp capture. Josh and I spent ages trying to catch one ( a fat bumble bee) in flight at Belsay Hall gardens a few days ago. I don't think either of us was entirely successful, but we had fun trying.
