Bewitching hazel

By oldgreyheron
It's a while since I've been here... I have had no photographic opportunities or inspiration. But because of a recent birthday I have replaced the old IXUS 800 IS with the 230 HS. This is a first attempt with macro on the new camera (it was the macro capability which caused me to stick with the Canon IXUS).

This scented flower is about 300 mm across. The witch hazel is lovely in appearance and scent at this potentially bleak time of year. I am pleased with the new camera's outcome.

A fine image of this wonderful flower, Mike, such a heady scent. Very well captured and presented. Carol

I never knew they were so colorful....your new camera seems to have great potential if this is the first attempt!

Aye...your new camera is faring well, Mike. I've heard of witch hazel but never actually seen the flower. Fascinating thing. Pity scent can't be transmitted Sad
