Chaenomales japonica

Another EPZer's recent image encouraged me to look more closely at the flowers on the chaenomales in the garden.

This is a macro shot with the trusty IXUS - the flower is about 2cm in diameter. AS with many other flower image I've gone for the "in your face" version against a plain black background so that the focus is on the simple splendour of the flower.

Thanks for the unexpectedly positive response to yesterday's image - I feel significantly encouraged.
