Hosta and bee

By oldgreyheron
Well, yesterday we had a little sunlight, and as I pondered a garden with larger weeds than ever seen before, and hosta leaves ravaged by the damp-loving flourishing slugs, I focused my attention on the flowers of my hostas. They are really very beautiful this year, and as I was looking I noticed the bees enjoying them as well, so with trusy IXUS to hand I snapped away in macro mode.

This may not be the best photograph I've ever taken ("far from it" I hear the chorus) but for me it does capture a centre of delicacy and nature at work in a garden challenged by so much rain!

Please tell me what you think! Many thanks, Mike.

A fine shot, Mike; the capture of the incurving stamens is so clear, they seem to be arranged to capture the bee on its exit. For all their delicacy, such flowers are better equipped for purpos than I am when it rains.

I'm doing a galloping catch-up on the site and it's going so sloooooowly for me - this is fascinating, those stamens are like beckoning fingers. Will the bees fall for it?
