Back to our garden from the grandeur of large formal affairs! I have to go close up to avoid any possibility of comparison, so here's one of our rhododendrons which is wonderfully in flower at present.

1/80s f2.8 Macro ISO Auto (not recorded).

I hope you enjoy the colour as much as I do! Thank you for stopping by, Mike

I must be psychic - I'd just decided to see if you had uploaded today...!
The rhodies are out up here too, I've been tempted to try but reckoned I couldn't do them justice. This is beautiful - vibrant but fragile. Fills the frame perfectly.

Mike this is gorgeous. I leave the knowledgeable flower comments to Moira. I'm afraid that if you had just told me to go into the garden to look at the rhododendrons I wouldn't have known what to do; so you won't be surprised when I say that I'm impressed with the resolution of the Ixus when I examine the sticky-outy bits at the front that you can scarcely see in the thumbnail.....
Best wishes

I have now explained to Bill that we don't actually have any rhododendrons in our garden, but I was pointing them out to him throughout a 2-hour walk last week...
Over and out, so to speak.

All, thanks for the kind comments - it's very encouraging. I have found the IXUS to be a joy to use as something which will literally slip in the pocket, but produce crisp enjoyable images. Its macro capability is amazing (and I think all is probably helped by the mysterious image stabilisation technology! Mike.

Beautiful. There's no place like home, is there? The rooster definitely won't end up in the soupSmile My daughter is very choice of her poultry.

Very beautiful, (reminds me I gotta get out into my poor neglected garden and give it some TLC!) Large version is particularly good Mike, lovely clarity and although I love the modified/enhanced flower images on EPZ I also really appreciate seeing this kind of 'in-situ' real-life shot. Great work - kind regards Robin

I like roadydemdrums and you've done this one justice, Mike. It says something for your canon compact that it picked out all those delicate hues.
