Sheltered crocus

By oldgreyheron
I don't think we've had crocus in flower this early in the year before. Here we have a few in a sheltered position under a substantial hebe bush. The snow didn't quite reach them!

That's a sight for sore eyes, Mike Smile Beautifully captured, they are very well sheltered underneath their hebe umbrella. Carol

I saw them in flower in Jesmond Dene this afternoon Mike - I was amazed, I've hardly seen any snowdrops yet up here!

Spring.....seems so early, but so welcome.

This IS early. Sigh...I miss spring flowers in England. In Leeds, every spring, you'd see crocuses and tulips as you were walking past Hyde Park on the way to uni. Such a lovely thing to see every day.

The yellow crocuses have been out unusually early this year Mike, they are very hardy too and mine have survived the hard frost and snow along with the snowdrops
