Weighed down

By oldgreyheron
Whilst dashing out to work on Thursday morning I paused momentarily to admire the snow on the daffodils near our front door. Image #1 is conventional, image #2 is strange: an attempt against the sky where the colour is irretrievable and the image rather coarse, but the ice crystals are very much to my liking!

Have a great weekend - we are really looking forward to our daughter returning for an extended weekend as she moves on to the next step of her RAF training.

Mike

Well composed shots. In v2 the ice stands out very clearly. V1 is my favourite though, as I really like the bowed down curve where the snow has added weight to the flower.

Two super shots, I think the ice crystals are beautiful, but sad too.
Have a great time with your daughter, they are so special.

V2 for me, a bit different. I like the dark transluscence if that makes sense.

V1 is very fine, Mike: tones, exposure, composition all work for me. V2 is unconventional and as such appeals to me greatly!
Thank you for your comments this morning. Neither I nor Tony ever imagined that many people would join in our bit of Saturday Silliness, let alone regularly.....
Enjoy your week-end with your daughter!

Great images Mike, nice and crisp. I can see what you were trying for with #2 and the ice crystals look great but I think the loss of colour has spoiled it a little?
