Long tailed tit

By oldgreyheron
Taken from the study window about an hour ago - just a single long tailed tit visiting the suet balls. There were four of them feeding at dusk yesterday.

The background is a huge bank of snow caused by the total coverage of quite a large pampas grass plant.

1/400s f7.1 ISO 400 EV+1 Partial metering

I was supposed to take Andrew back to Lancaster today - forecast looked terrible so postponed until tomorrow. Weather and motorways much better than expected but he was not ready to go... frustrating for both of us. Fingers crossed for M62 tomorrow (won't contemplate A66!)

Bird stands out really well against the white natural snow background. Well spotted.

So tiny, so beautiful. This really is a gem of a shot Mike.
Interesting too, I've given up on suet balls as they seem to attract starlings like nothing else.

BG works well, perhaps you should pop it in the freezer for future shoots Wink

Fine work Mike . Just love the background Wink Great to get the long tailed Tit so sharply through your window. I haven't seen one this year or last. They are so pretty . xxx
