Imused to live in the woods of upstate NY, amidst pine trees. This time of year. There would be amanita muscarias everywhere. They are toxic, but not deadly.....possibly psychoactive....and may have been eaten by Plato, leading to the Allegory of the Cave (maybe the best description of a psychedelic trip I have ever read) and The Republic.
