  • Pathway to heaven v1

Thanks for the comments dudler, next time I will go by myself for a walk, as her indoors was with me on this one, so I was under instructions to take one photograph whilst she went into the church to light a candle. So I cheated and took two.

I did notice it was not levelled up when I put it on the computer, so since I have been back I have set the camera option for third squares so I have an idea of what should go where, I hope.

    Thanks again

Thanks guy's for your ideas etc. I shot a full sequence from the car hitting the water to when it left, I would have liked to upload the whole sequence but only allowed one photo a day. I thought about cropping the foreground, but then ah no, just leave it to show the ground in front of the water where there is a slight slope, also where the vehicle had come from, and the spray in comparison to the width of the ford itself. I have also an after photo to show the ford over the road.

Before I took these sequences I tried others with various vehicles facing the other way but the few that went over took it steady so no impact was made, to me they made a tame picture. I think this guy thought hey someones taking a photo and went for it, we don't get many chancers like that.

I do not have many editing tools, the one that came with the Canon is way understandable (not). So I use basic cut and paste with a tad of crop, the rests not beyond me, but the cost is to buy these products.

What would you suggest I do, I am in a bit of a quandary, I would like you all to see the full sequence, but, I can only post one photo a day, so please your ideas here will help as well.

Hi all, thank you for your kind comments. I have been a member here for many years. When I first joined, a ePHOTOzine book was coming out ‘Guide to great photography’ number 265/600, signed by Peter Bargh, so that says a lot or not.

Back to the matter at hand, I take in all your comments, though unfortunately I am not a photographer, more a picture taker if you know what I mean, I see something I like and take it if I have the camera with me.

Since that picture was taken my other half has bought me, what I would call a proper camera, a Canon EOS 700D without lens, though I have purchased a main lens a Tamron 18-270mm F3.5-6.3, also a Kenko C-AF 2x Teleplus MC7.

All I have done is taken practice photo’s with it, just playing around to try and understand how it functions etc. I have also bought several books but I am unable for some reason to get into it as well as I feel I should have, hence any reluctance to post things.

The picture Sri Lanka photo was posted, as I liked the view, I have found the original which was cropped by me to remove two guy’s in the water that I thought distracted from the picture. I have looked at all your edits and I thank you, the one I prefer is that from mrswoolybill, thank you.

So there you have it, a bit about me, and my equipment. I will post again, in a moment a shot take local to me with the 700D, I would like your comments on that as well.
