West Green at Night

I was asked to take some photos of the National Trust property West Green House at night on the occasion of one of their opera evenings. The famous gardens were floodlit in many colours and it was difficult to get the exposure right without blowing out the highlights. I also had to shoot the opera scenes just using natural light from the back of the auditorium.

They have used about a dozen of the photos on their web site.

I have added some variants and they are worth viewing large if you have time. I will also do another upload of them tomorrow.

As always many thanks for all your support and time on my gallery it is very much appreciated.

congratulations on NT using a number of your images on their web site - you must be very proud and so you should be as the reflections are second to none - cracking shots ALL of them

Colourful set. I particularly like #2. With #1, I would trim some of the sky off

I must admit I do rather like colourful evening shots, and these are very nice colouful evening shots, Derek! I'm sure they must have been very pleased with your images, having viewed this sample. Think V2 has to be my fave, with those super reflections, but all are excellent.

Great shots with #1 my favourite, with a good composition, loving the sky, the lights and the reflections and doing an excellent job of capturing the dusk mood

Looks like a beautiful place and event - V1&2 are my favourites - the colours and lighting are perfect, not to mention the details.
