    Lovely shot Smile
Was it you I saw there late on 22nd May ? There was a chap with a small dog ( which was yapping at me ) at this very spot Smile I carried on to the main falls though they weren't flowing so well as it hadn't rained much - might have to go again when there's been more rain if I'm passing that way Smile

Thank you for your fab UA on my wolfy pic Smile
Nikon D80 brings back memories - my first DSLR - and a fab little camera !
Love the bird in motion and the water droplets on this pic...nice contrast to the standing bird .

  • If you go down to the woods today ...

Cheers Pam and Carole , and illiboy for your fab UA Smile

Quote:He has his eye on you Jonathan, can he smell them in your pocket.

He was asleep when I spotted him - quite a way away and in the bushes ... sadly I couldn't give him any treats ( I'd have probably been thrown out ) but I guess he knows how much I love wolves Smile Their eyes are amazing Smile

  • Isolated Kelpie

Quote:For those of us who haven't visited the kelpies, it's good to see the back of this one. I didn't realise how beautiful the design of the mane was. Well done for getting some unusual angles.

Cheers Smile If you get the chance they are well worth the visit - though if you want to see them lit up it's an hour after sunset - I might have another trip in the autumn so I can see the lights Smile
I like to try different angles and trying to avoid the background distractions as much as possible Smile

  • Grey cat

    Cheers all Smile

Quote: He Used to visit...did you scare him off

I moved house and the house I bought doesn't have a garden ( or a grey cat ) ... and because I was staying with friends in the transition I rehomed my cat with my sisters friend - so she's safe and happy but I don't have her anymore Smile

  • Enjoying a nibble...

Lovely shot Pam Smile We used to see them regularly at the stables , courting by the bridge over the stream ... but they'd never stay put once I got my camera out ! Not seen them the last couple of years - but I've seen a few single ones.

  • Stunt double - carousel horse

Cheers photowalks4u .... I bought myself a Nikon Speedlight flash and always carry it but very rarely use it ... it's something I need to think about more , also using the histograms - though I am using them more in camera to check shots I don't do so much post production as my monitor isn't the best for viewing slight tone differences ... another thing I need to change or at least calibrate it Smile
Always happy to receive constructive feedback , so thank you Smile

  • Jaguar at Chester Zoo

Cheers PhilT2 , Dave and Pam Smile
I find shooting at an angle through the glass helps if it's mucky , fortunately on that day it was reasonably clean ... and the people were well behaved Tongue
It's rare I look professional , lol , but I usually do dress a bit smarter if I'm going for an organised day out rather than just having a wander through the local park Smile I did get a few people come and ask me for tips when I was photographing the black panther outsideSmile

  • Out of the water

Cheers Ju , I've been to Badminton a couple of times but it's a loooooong way to drive , been to Burghley 3 times now and Bramham about 20 as it's only an hours drive away ( plus an hour in the queue ! ) .
My car is playing up again at the moment as well as my neck so don't really fancy such a long drive - though I am planning on a week driving round Scotland at the end of May if I get my neck and car sorted Smile

  • Under the trainline - Jerez

< Pam > Yes , the cycle paths around there were nearly everywhere - and people actually used them ! Not like in the UK where they ride on the road then give you abuse when you say it's safer to use the path !
Seville also had cycle paths alongside nearly every road Smile
Would be a nice place to tour by bike - get around a bit quicker , I mostly walked everywhere ... quite a few miles a day !

  • Andalusian horse - Jerez

    Cheers Carole and Cathy Smile
I had the pleasure of riding some of the Lippizanner stallions over two weeks in the late 90's when I visited Vienna ( I rode a lot better then than I do now ) ... They were superb , and watching the refinement in the training and riding was a masterclass ... The horses at Jerez are also superb but I didn't think the standard of riding was in the same class - for me it wasn't as smooth or well defined. I also went to see the SRS a couple of years ago at Wembley - wonderful show and well worth the trip if they make another tour Smile I'd also love to see the Cadre Noir du Saumur in France .... but each time I've tried to make the trip something has got in the way Sad Maybe this year or next I'll try again Smile

  • Guisbrough Priory

Cheers Mike , I've lived locally for over 40 years and that was the first time I've ever actually gone inside , though I have taken shots of it from the other side and from the cemetery - certainly worth another visit when I get time Smile

Lovely shot , Love his walking stick Tongue

  • Bird of prey between the trees

Quote:Lucky you seeing this, and having your camera, on the spot!

Cheers Pam , fortunately I saw him land in the trees so kept my focus on him rather than everything else that was going on ... so when he took flight I just had to pan with him Smile

  • Clover

She's a skinny cow ... needs to put a bit of beef on !
I'd buy a coffee or two in there just to get away from the wifi crowd !

  • Great Tit in Flight

Lovely colours - it would be great processed as a watercolour maybe in photoshop to bring out the painterly look to it and usually enhances the contrast - or maybe even 'stained glass' filter may work to make an arty abstract !
Lovely action shot either way Smile

  • Shells

you can never have too many shells or crystals / stones ... or indeed anything shiny , sparkly or interesting Smile
I have a rather extensive collection dotted all over my house - I need to organise it some day and get some photos Smile
Lovely shot with an oldie worldly feel to it Smile

  • Design Masterpiece

Lovely coloured bug - not sure about restored though unless some time ago - it's suffering quite a bit of bug rot in the corners - arches and sills Smile
    Gorgeous car though Smile

  • Clear who is the boss !

Quote:I would either like to see a more cropped image or a missing part of the tailSmileWink

Cheers Daniela Smile I totally agree - and the annoying thing is that I had the full tail in the shot before but it wasn;t as nice ... I could have cloned the tip on Smile I thought about cropping it but decided to just leave it as shot - but now you mention it a crop probably would have worked better Smile

  • Oh Lonesome Me

Quote:If LS Lowry had been a photographer.
I do believe LS Lowry WAS a would be photographer ... if you look at the way a camera obscura works and look at his images ... the series by the BBC showed someone turning a room into a camera obscura that you could walk inside ... it was awesome , and the first thing I thought of was the similarity to Lowry's paintings !
Can't think what the BBC series was called at the moment but the double DVD can be had very cheap on ebay and well worth a watch ! ( I don't support the BBC - I don't have TV as I oppose the TV license but I do watch DVDs Smile )

The person with the coloured brolly to the left makes this shot for me ... and the almost painterly depth to the contrast . Well worth my UA Smile
