...after breakfast...

Himalaya October 2011-from the route towards Everest Base Camp, the very youngest member of a local family being carefully looked after by his older sister in an enviroment that would break any concept regarding health and safety for children. Behind this appearence there is a fundamental truth-long time back forgoten in the West European culture: people look after each other from early stage of life using basic skills for doing so which seems to keep them together for the rest of their life.

...why "after breakfast"? , there is a story behind this image: I spent 10 minutes around these children until I took this image, I was resting (one of very few restings required on the route to the Everest Base Camp) and I saw these kids finishing their poridge (in fact the sister was feeding the little one) and then she went to the next task: playing and looking after her little brother. The actual playing area was placed on the edge of a quite high cliff that would eventually end up in a tremendous river stream of Himalaya...and this was part of an ordinary daily routine.
