The village of Chalgrove is a lovely little village in Oxfordshire where some of my ancestors were born and raised, therefore I have a special interest in its origins and its history. I finally got to visit there a couple of weeks ago to photograph the Church and some of the lovely ...

Multi-Story Theatre

The Angus Ferguson Community Barge My husband and I enjoyed a trip on Saturday afternoon along the Leeds-Liverpool Canal from Hirst Wood in Saltaire to Shipley on the Angus Ferguson Community Barge. It was part of the Multi-Story Water Theatre along the River Aire and Leeds-Liverpool Canal...

Typical day out

Something I enjoy doing when I am out and about with my camera is taking what I call "everyday life scenes". Images that depict what some might say the 'norm', the 'usual', maybe you could even say the 'boring'. But the fact is that it is what people do everyday. Whether it be mums out s...

Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee

Firstly, I am not a royalist and the money spent this year for Her Majesty's Jubilee is estimated to be around 3 billions pounds.... that is obscene. So when I heard that she was to visit the Pace Corporation in Saltaire (the building next door to mine), I decided to take a short walk to mingle and...

Saltaire gained its World Heritage status on 16 Dec 2001, and celebratations take place each year in April. The 2012 event took place last weekend on the 20-21 April. Events began on Friday evening with a gig at Caroline Street Social Club headlined by steampunk rock band BB Black Dog. The ma...

THOUSANDS of people from all over the country queued for a rare opportunity to see Bingley’s famous Five Rise Locks from the canal bed over the weekend. It was drained so engineers could carry out vital repair work, with British Waterways taking the chance to replace four of the six giant gates. ...

365 Project: Day 19

Went out in search of some reflections today, so walked along the canal towpath from Saltaire to Shipley and beyond. Took a few different shots, but found these windows of an old building reflected in the rippling canal water quite interesting; hope some other viewers do as well..:)

365 Project: Day 18

Graffiti often catches my eye, and this little fellow saying 'hello' always makes me smile when I pass him on the canal at Shipley.

365 Project: Day 16

Somedays I like to wander around just window shopping, and I often see weird and wonderful things like this plate of artificial apples. I've cropped and altered the perspective a little to make it stand out a little

365 Project: Day 15

Rather chilly outside today, so decided to try out a few still life shots..which I am pretty rubbish at, so need the practice. I just realised that red peppers are fully ripe, the yellow and orange nearly ripe, and the green are "green" or not ripe..lol that's all I have to say tonight...

365 Project: Day 14

MMM... a frosty start to this morning, and a bright sunny day. Popped over to Roberts Park to take a few shots and caught this reflection in the weir. I haven't seen this particular tree reflected in this postion before... to me it looks really weird appearing right on the edge. Looks like 2 diffe...
