p12owe

Hi,
Being quite new to photography I am still experimenting. I don't concentrate on any one genre, though I do tend to avoid wildlife, due to equipment limitations and glamour, because it does nothing for me. I like images that are different, push boundaries or tell a story.
I hope with some of my images I have achieved this. Any comments on my efforts would be most welcome and much appreciated.

About

I dabbled in the darkroom as a schoolboy, then moved towards watercolour and acrylic painting. I purchased a canon 350d quite recently and became more interested in photography. I now use a Canon 5d and some budget lenses. I think the artist influence is still much stronger in my work than the photographer, but I think I probably prefer it that way!

Excellent PF Peter. Above average sense of creativity and sense of humour evident.

Peter, I wondered if you had a related skill or interest, nevertheless, to me you have a natural talent and a photographer's eye - not being constrained by the theory is clearly an advantage in the way you work. Like Andy, I look forward to seeing your future work. By the way, I have just noticed your 'avatar' above (the face) which is brilliant in itself! All the best for the future. Chris

Thanks Chris,

The truth is that F stops, metering and such like are still genuinely confusing to me.
I have recently made the transition from artist to photographer and still rely very much on my eye and what pleases me to photograph. I have to quietly admit that some are the result of luck or experimentation!
regards
Peter

A very good series of photos which, from the look of your portfolio, show a great deal skill and knowledge in both camera and software - if this is your 'just learning what all the buttons do' then you must either have a natural talent or perhaps incredible luck at pushing random buttons! Chris

Very, very good and unique portfolio already.
I've been playing around for 5 years now -
I can't wait to see what you might be doing with your images in 5 years Smile
Regards
Andy.
