Blue tit

Blue tit by Robinsons

Quote: I think you would have benefit from a little negative exposure compensation in order to retain the bird's white head... also would have expected greater clarity from a 5mk2 so sorry but have to disagree with our colleague above

Actually looks OK on my monitor. I also commend you for trying something different. You obviously have a talent and an eye for landscape photography, but we can all beneifit from trying something outside our comfort zone once in a while... bird photography is never easy, especially with limited equipment. A wonderfully creative and varied PF... I will be studying these in much more detail later!

I love the duck avatar!

Hi Kate.

Inspired by your perseverance at this technique, I decided to try this myself.... It's not as easy as it looks is it?
I found this oil/water photography which I found really useful, especially the bit about the backgrounds. I will upload a few of tonight's efforts to my pf.
Thanks for the inspiration!

You have some great mono images here, I particularly like the Tate shot... might have to have a go at that one myself!

I think this "humble part" of the site contains some wonderfully eclectic images. You have an eye for the details that others miss and I hope you will not mind me connecting to your PF

When I first joined the site, I was blown away by your creative way of presenting wildlife. It is so refreshing to see really artistic work in this genre and when I finally have the appropriate lenses I will be using your PF as inspiration.

....and... Is that a picture of me!!!!!!!!

An amazing PF with some wonderful techniques, especially with the flower studies.. I will quietly be trying to emulate some of these myself if I can work out how you did it!

Added Date: 04/12/2012 - 10:40 AM

Thanks Chris,

The truth is that F stops, metering and such like are still genuinely confusing to me.
I have recently made the transition from artist to photographer and still rely very much on my eye and what pleases me to photograph. I have to quietly admit that some are the result of luck or experimentation!
