The mimic

By pablophotographer
A pidgeon sat on the sitting area of the train station, displaying the exact behaviour of a human behind it. The picture may have suffered from dead space on the right, it was shot from close distance and I didn't want to upset the pidgeon and make it leave from the spot.

I have no problem with the dead space - it enhances the image for me - the loneliness of waiting. Really well seen. Just a tad dark on my screen, and I'd clone out that bright light at the top as it distracts the eye.

I like the space too. I agree with Anne about the bright spot but this doesn't take anything away from an excellent and well seen capture.

hello all, I am chuffed. I had not noticed the light probably when shooting it. It is a red traffic light fro the train what you see there. But my vision doesn't serve me will lately. Thanks for the feedback!

Creatures often mimic human beings! if you have always been associated with nature you see many signs of this, it must have been cold as this is the natural pose of a cold Pigeon! railway stations are cold most times. the female is cold to hence the posture, the wide expanse shows the isolation of the two living things in conjunction with the cold impersonal materials of the station platform. I personally never ever change a photo once taken, that is the moment I saw so be it, good bad or indifferent, at the same time I take specific photo's to manipulate that is another story altogether. I like the way you have taken this shot it tells a story and makes you think why both are there! apart from her waiting for a train. Well processed and presented, regards Leon.GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

Thanks for teh comments Leon. Yes I have witnessed it. Once returning form afternoon guard backto the unit, I found a young dog sleeping on a bed, belly up four legs gathered. I had no camera there, back then and thankfully that was not my bed, lol.

Thank you. I was sitting already on the spot where I shot it from, I watched it passing in front of me, looking for food remains on the floor dropped by passengers. Then, it flew up to the sitting area and took the position just like the girl on the background. It is a drafty spot there...
