Taken at the Chatham Festival Of Steam on Easter Monday - lots to see and take images of, including 'Steam Punk Morris Dancers'. However I was disappointed with what I came home with, seem to be in the 'Doldrums' with my photography at the moment. Anyway as usual it was the close-up details that drew my attention and I quite liked this one..

Thanks as always for your time, your thoughts/comments are very welcome.
Regards - Sarah J x

I like the shape and composition, but the skin looks a bit red (maybe that is his natural colour). Lovely textures and you can almost smell the leather Smile

Thanks Dave.. yeah a bit red, I did another version where I toned down the hand colour but it looked a bit washed out, somewhere inbetween I think would be better - thanks for your comment Smile

Has your trademark attention to detail Sarah- fine observation with beautiful light and strong compositional elements...

Trust the photographic doldrums don't last...

I love your 'little details' shots, Sarah and this is great. The shine on the outer edge relly gives it life.

I think it's par for the course to hit the Doldrums every now and again- I can sympathise with you. I currently barely pick up the camera. Motivation has up and gone , probably not helped by the weather ofl late . I'm sure when Spring finally arrives and we are not in temperatures that feel like 0 and below, my enthusiasm will return.
Despite feeling in the Doldrums photographically speaking, your observational skills have certainly not deserted you. It's all in the detail.

Chant, yes I think that you are right re the weather, hasn't helped being such a long winter! Hopefully warmer days and lighter evenings will indeed return and along with them our enthusiasm too! I appreciate your kind comment re the image, thank you Smile
