What an amazing find, even by Northumbrian standards!

A wonderful shape. It even has two legs.
Northumbrian winds can sometimes blow from other directions; occasionally they even do the hokey-cokey and turn around (that's what it's all about); but they must have performed some highly complicated convolutions to produce a tree like this.
And the photo is pretty wonderful too.

Looks like a gnarled old man, bent with age. The wind here today is out of the WNW at about 35MPH. The trees are swaying like grass.
I'll look forward to this series.

Giid to see you can get your models to bend over backwards for you, Dan.Wink

Amazing what the weather will do, and what trees will do to survive constant onslaughts of wind.

In Northern Norway the mountain birches lean in every which direction also.

Marvellous image for the first tree of the series Danny. I sometimes feel like this in the morning when my rheumatics are giving me bother.

Oh tell me what was on your road, ye roarin’ norlan’ Wind,
As ye cam’ blawin’ frae the land that’s niver frae my mind?
My feet they traivel England, but I’m deein’ for the north.
My man, I heard the siller tides rin up the Firth o Forth”
