Winter in the Calder Valley

By Alan_Baseley
Taken about noon today looking across the River Calder. There was so little colour in the shot it wasn't worthwhile trying to process it as a colour shot.

Alan, that is a really great shot!
I understand what you said in your description about the colour shot and it not being worthwhile processing.
I've taken so many dull/no sun/no real brightness/no contrast day photos recently; processing them to try to bring out something that isn't really there in blooming hard work!!
B/w for this shot is spot on. SmileSmile

The trees give a useful foreground frame, Alan. A cold and expansive landscape.

The only good thing about all the snow is how it transforms the appearance of the land for photography, and you have captured a fine view of the Calder valley so well. Looks very cold and I bet your fingers were too.
