These are some of the display items that belonged to Prince Henry, seen at the King’s Royal Hussars Museum, Winchester, Hampshire, which is part of the Military Museums there.
“Hussar” is a Hungarian word for a light cavalry horseman.
Now equipped with the most modern tanks and armoured vehicles, the character, spirit and traditions of their soldiers are rooted in the experience of the horsemen who came before them. At the museum you can find out how a cavalry soldier looked after his horse, how the 10th Hussars introduced the game of polo to England, and how the 11th Hussars rode in the Charge of the Light Brigade.
2 versions, both with a bit of “amalgamation” work.
Grateful thanks to those of you who were interested enough in my previous post from the Royal Green Jackets to leave your kind votes, comments and awards.
Pamela.
