Mahogany Cherry 2

Continuing my abstract series.
(I uploaded this as a version in 2009).

I think my love of trees developed when I lived in the New Forest, but I never found this one there. The Mahogany Cherry or Tibetan Cherry has magnificent glossy coppery-red bark with attractive peeling circles. It was introduced from China in 1908.
I love its shape, sheen, colour and texture, and the way the upper part looks like a toned lower human back.

Beautiful texture on the tree, you feel you would want to stroke it! Good tight framing used to emphasize this section of the tree.
