Continuing my experimentation with new backgrounds for flowers.
I personally love the way this blends together, but await your valued opinions.
The background for the rose and clematis is labradorite. This fascinating mineral, though mainly grey, displays a colourful glowing shiller from lamellor intergrowths inside the crystal when viewed from certain positions and when light is supplied from certain angles. The labradorescence or iridescence (play of colours) is a truly unique mineralogical experience.
