Having spent the day exploring the ancient part of Valencia, I deeply regret having found The City of Arts and Sciences just as the coach arrived. So I really must go back.
Built between 1996 and 2005, it's a complete contrast to the old part of Valencia, a unique complex devoted to scientific and cultural dissemination which is made up of five main elements, one of which is L'Umbracle, a long greenhouse containing a spectacular gardened esplanade with plant species indigenous to Valencia.
L'Umbracle sits on top of a giant underground car park and here you see the air vents, disguised as entrance ways into the building, a touch of architectural whimsy, and the vents are decorated with traditional ultramarine Spanish mosaic. To me, they looked like giant urinals!!!
2 versions, separate images, not a crop.
Here is a picture on the internet of the building, I didn't have time to take one myself.
