looks like the two big ones are telling each other jokes,

Oh no, not the joke about the tree fellers from Dublin?
The artist definitely has a theme going there, Maureen. Not quite Green Man, but more Three Kings. I see them as Wonderfully Wise Wooden WizardsGrin!
With their mouths open like that, they lend themselves to all sorts of hilarious captions.
However, what you have here is the tree spirit choir, so listen with your heart and you will hear the harmony of the woods, a folk song telling of the wisdom of trees, the chanting of souls removed from their natural homes, but hopefully destined for a future living with a kindred spirit who will have empathy with their past.

love your write up for me,

i love green men and have a few around
the latest one is half hidden amongst my clematis,

and anything to do with the woods is fine by me
and i confess i am often found with my arms around a tree. Wink
