It Followed Her .........

By Paree
Mary had a little lamb
It can be confirmed that the song Mary had a little lamb is American as the words were written by Sarah Hale, of Boston, in 1830.

An interesting historical note about this rhyme - the words of Mary had a Little Lamb were the first ever recorded by Thomas Edison, on tin foil, on his phonograph.

Mary had a little lamb its fleece was white as snow;
And everywhere that Mary went, the lamb was sure to go.
It followed her to school one day, which was against the rule;
It made the children laugh and play, to see a lamb at school.
And so the teacher turned it out, but still it lingered near,
And waited patiently about till Mary did appear.
"Why does the lamb love Mary so?" the eager children cry;
"Why, Mary loves the lamb, you know" the teacher did reply

did you spot the snow drops?

Soft and delicate - the snowdrops hiding in plain sight. Love the whole thing, the little lamb, the bunny, the vines and I must sit and look a bit longer - seems I see something new each time. How many layers in this one?

Mary had a little lamb
Its fleece was black as soot
And into Mary's bread and jam
Its sooty foot it put.

Fantastic image - well created

One of the gentler nursery rhymes. This is very lovely interpretation of it. And yes, the snow drops are so delicate and barely there. Your work should be published somewhere. Beautifully done.

Mary had a little lamb,
The doctor was surprised,
But when Old McDonald had a farm,
He couldn't believe his eyes.

Mary had a little lamb
She took it near a pylon
50 million volts shot up its bum
And turned its wool to nylon...RC on me....
