This is a serious image, could it be a precursor to a world full of rubbish, for our children's children.

Today I wrote a poem about recycling for the papers, I made it light hearted because that's what people like, and it sells, but to me it is very serious all the rubbish that is accumulating around us, we must look after the planet, it is so precious.
The image was made because of the things that happened to me today, so read my poem with a chuckle, but take the image to your hearts,

Fish and Chipped

I'm so worried, I didn't sleep all last night,
Sit still, and I'll tell of my plight.
They arrived here today
One black and one grey
On my path, a wonderful sight.

It would seem they will sit side by side,
With my green and my blue, they'll abide.
Recycling bins
Have arrived for my sins.
My enthusiasm has just gone and died.

I talk of new bins for my trash,
I fear that my talking is rash
I've been told its a sin
To contaminate my bin
So must separate my mountainous stash.

And further to this I tell all
That it seems far from grace I may fall
If I mix it all up
Shove the clean with the muck
Must I first sort it out, in the hall.

So now as I sleep for the night,
I'll make sure that my eyes are shut tight
In case I may dream
A recycling theme
And awake to find bins, pink, and white.!

Yes a very emotive scenario Maureen, well conveyed in picture and verse.
We have 3 different colour bins but we can't put plastic in any of them !!!!!
These ill conceived council fiasco's get my back up. Keep the planet clean, but with better schemes than these bins.

Sorry if I went on a bit.

Sorry to have been away so long.
First -- thanks for the comments on my shots.
2nd -- this is a fantastic posting and a very different theme for you. I like the visual esthestic here but more than that I love the concern expressed in your comments, your picture and your poem.
3rd -- I suppose somebody will comment on the similarity of your shot to the ending visual (the Star Child ) in Stanley Kubrick's film, 2001. This is not bad. Both are different. Both (yours and Kubrick's) are very powerful.
4th -- I like the shot of you on the bike -- it makes for a nice portfolio portrait.

Terrific image Maureen. Sadly I think our children and indeed their children will pay for our pure laziness and lack of respect for this planet.
